Moved to Gainesville and was disappointed in the Chinese food options. Then we found Chan's. Best Chinese food around.

This used to be a five-star place, not anymore. Food tastes more oily, less fresh than it once did. That said, it remains the best option for New York-style Chinese take out in Gainesville, given the LOW bar set by its closest competitors. Food is generally ready quickly, and the service is efficient.

It's always hot and delicious! This is our go to spot in town for American Chinese food. Their orange chicken and Mongolian beef is so good! It's my favorite place when I'm craving Chinese food after a long day at work.

We stopped here tonight on the way to our new home in The Villages because supermarkets were closed due to the upcoming hurricane and we needed to get food for the next few days. I wasn't expecting much because this was a little hole-in-the-wall type of place where you normally get very average food at best. But everything was so fresh and even the vegetable fried rice was great quality, tasty, and full of veggies. And they told me what items had no MSG so I stuck with those for the most part (white sauce). Highly recommend. They even were kind enough to give me a bag of ice because our ice packs for the drive for our food in the car had gotten too warm.

This has now become our favorite place for takeout. It's fresh and has the best flavor. Service is great. R stump

The food at Chans is delicious, fresh, hot, and always prepared from scratch. This isn't your average Chinese takeout. They really care about the food they're cooking. There are many choices so don't worry about not finding something you'll like. They are takeout only. We love Chans and dine from here often.

DELICIOUS food, very hygienic, fast service. Don't plan on eating here, it seems to be functioning as a strictly take-out only joint.

Ok, so I had no intention of writing a review for this restaurant but after devouring my food last night and eating my leftovers today; I had to. My daughter recommended grabbing takeout from here for dinner last night as this is one of her lunch spots and she said it is pretty good so why not! We ordered the beef lo mein extra spicy, an order of chicken wings, and a shrimp egg roll. Everything was absolutely good; I already love lo mein but the extra spice to it was the cherry on top and it tastes even better the next day! I will definitely be back, next time I'll take pics!

This restaurant is always wonderful. Food is great, always prepared fast. I don't really understand why people are upset about not being able to walk up and order. With all of the people out and about without masks in town, I don't blame them a bit for being careful and wanting to have shorter customer interactions. Their wings, house special lo mein, egg rolls, and sweet and sour chicken are all excellent. We have been eating here for years (since well before COVID) and have never experienced poor service.
